Join our world class product development team located in Fairfax, VA. You will be responsible for all phases of the software development life cycle, from design through test for our Java based, multi-tier software application in the emerging market of Enterprise Telecommunications Management (ETM).

Specific Roles and & Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain and test business application software based on industry accepted design patterns
• Contribute at various phases of projects: planning, requirements, design, code, unit testing, etc…
• Help other employees with design and technical issues related to their projects / software

• Technical degree and 2+ years experience in Java/J2ee
• Full software development lifecycle experience – product experience preferred
• Knowledge of some combination of Servlets/Oracle/SQL/Unix/HTML/Javascript/XML/Eclipse/Tomcat Apache and Subversion is desirable
• Understanding of design patterns and when to use them
• Critical thinking skills
• Desire to work with a small, but quickly-growing software company

Senior J2EE Developer – Herndon Virginia

Senior J2EE developer to work indefinitely on a Project in Herndon, VA. The Hub is a proprietary integration tool that facilitates communication amongst numerous critical systems. It heavily leverages Weblogic and JMS.

In this role, our Sr. Developer will support and enhance the Hub and help other projects incorporate the Hub. As part of a 4-6 person team, the Sr. Developer will perform a wide variety of functions from coding as a team member to leading and mentoring junior staff. In addition to coding, our consultant will contribute to architecture and design when needed. This person will:
• construct and maintain messaging, data transformation and data storage services required by Restatement (FAS 91, CAS/GAS) and for development of repalcement financial transaction systems
• design and develop Java, Oracle and web-based transaction systems, Enterprise-wide mission critical applications, and use an expert understanding of the network and software infrastructure technologies.

Successful candidates will have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering, or relevant work experience.
• At least 8+ years combined experience in enterprise level and web based application design/development and implementation support.
• 4 years Java development experience.
• A minimum of 3 years e-commerce development experience.
• 5 years of architecture experience designing and implementing real-time transaction processing systems.
• Extensive information architecture experience and hands-on Oracle development and administration.
• An understanding of message based systems (BEA JMS and IBM MQ) and experience with a relational database (Sybase or Oracle).
• Expert ability to identify and analyze requirements, to design, develop and support effective, high-quality solutions.
• Motivated to maintain technical currency and to creatively apply new technologies to build a solution.
• Other critical skills include the ability to work in a team environment; build partnerships with business clients; develop innovative technical approaches; diagnose and resolve problem causes; and manage competing priorities.
• Effective communication with peers and management will be critical to success in this role. Candidate must also be able to quickly absorb complex business functionality and be capable of operating effectively in a diverse technical environment.
• Knowledge of C++ is a plus.
• Knowledge of portfolio management, mortgage backed securities and accounting systems is also a plus.
